SugarHouse NJ Online Casino Joins Live Dealer Party With Evolution Gaming

The latest wave of online gambling has hit PlaySugarHouse online casino.

Rush Street Interactive, which operates the Pennsylvania-based online casino operating in New Jersey, announced Friday it was “launching a Live Dealer Casino” powered by Evolution Gaming.

SugarHouse becomes the eighth NJ gambling site to bring in live dealer games.

“Evolution pioneered the product category and is globally considered to have the leading live dealer products,” Ken Adams, head of New Jersey operations for Rush Street Interactive, said in a statement. “This reinforces’s commitment to offering New Jersey’s online players the best mix of innovative and entertaining games available.”

Joining fast-growing market

Operating under the Golden Nugget gaming license, PlaySugarHouse enters the live dealer side with Evolution Gaming, which is considered the global leader in live dealer and table games.

Named Global Live Casino Supplier of the Year by eGaming Review for nine straight years, Evolution’s product goes live at a third online casino in two days.

Players will have a variety of games to choose from at PlaySugarHouse:

  • Low and high stakes blackjack, including side bets and Bet Behind
  • Roulette
  • Slingshot Roulette
  • Baccarat
  • Three Card Poker
  • Ultimate Texas Hold’em Poker

With live dealer games, users get the casino experience while playing online. According to Rush Street’s announcement, PlaySugarHouse “will launch 10 gaming tables, although more tables and games are expected to be added before the end of the year.”

“A live dealer game is the closest you can get online to playing in a land-based casino,” Richard Schwartz, president of Rush Street Interactive, said in a statement. “Many players prefer live dealer options because they watch it happen live, which gives them a higher level of trust in the outcome.  We’re excited to now offer those players this opportunity to virtually sit and play on Evolution’s world-renowned live tables.”

Welcome to the Evolution family

With Friday’s launch, PlaySugarHouse joins a group of three online casinos that have rolled out live dealer games powered by Evolution.

Hard Rock online casino became the first to go live with its product Thursday after Evolution received the regulatory thumbs-up to open for business. Earlier Friday, 888 Casino NJ also rolled out its line of Evolution live dealer games.

Upon announcing 888’s launch, Evolution director of business development James Stern noted that the approach to entering a new market is about doing it “in a very systematic way to mitigate risk and maximize the opportunity for success. New Jersey is no different. Certainly, from Evolution’s perspective, the time is now right” to unveil live dealer games in the Garden State.

Also partnered with Evolution, and expected to launch its live dealer games soon, is Ocean Resort Casino.

Chipping into Golden Nugget’s stranglehold

For years, Golden Nugget has reigned supreme in terms of NJ online casino revenue. Part of the reason was its standing as the only platform to offer live dealer games when they were launched in 2016.

Using its Ezugi studio, Golden Nugget enjoyed spikes in revenue before sharing its studio with its sub-brand Betfair (now FanDuelin 2017.

Since, however, the live dealer market has expanded with BorgataPartyCasino, and playMGM joining the live dealer party earlier this year. All three are powered by Ezugi.

With more competitors in the market, Golden Nugget, which became the first NJ online casino to reach $9 million in monthly revenue, may not have its right to the throne challenged right away. But it could become more difficult to continue its standing as the runaway NJ online gambling leader in New Jersey.
