The heralded summer of Ocean Resort Casino has extended into fall.
Legalized sports betting has captured a number of states in America. But, as VSiN representatives noted, New Jersey has set the standard. And Ocean Resort, owner Bruce Deifik said in the release, considers itself the “epicenter” of NJ sports betting.
“As legalization continues to expand across the country, VSiN will be where it needs to be to cover these markets,” said VSiN CEO Brian Musburger. “Bruce Deifik’s Ocean Resort has made a significant commitment to the sports betting scene in New Jersey by opening the most impressive sports book in Atlantic City.”
VSiN settles in at Ocean Resort
According to the release, the studio will sit within Ocean Resort’s William Hill Sports Book, the permanent space that opened in early September.
At the time, Deifik mentioned that VSiN, specifically longtime and acclaimed sportscaster Brent Musburger, would air shows from the Ocean Resort sportsbook during the venue’s first full weekend.
Now, VSiN is setting up a more-permanent shop.
“They’re great people,” Deifik said in a Thursday phone call, “and it’s great for our customers. (VSiN) is very educational and very informal and wildly popular in Las Vegas. So we think it’s a great deal for us. … People socializing and getting together (at the sportsbook), and VSiN is a wonderful amenity.”
Weekends at the AC casino
Per the release, the Ocean Resort sportsbook studio will host weekend morning shows beginning later this month.
The weekend show teams former NFL executive Michael Lombardi (a New Jersey native) and current VSiN host Jonathan Von Tobel.
Their show will kick off the network’s weekend programming at 10 a.m. ET each Saturday and Sunday.
NJ sports betting + a betting-based network
Still relatively new to the airwaves, VSiN debuted in February 2017. It went live one month after Brent Musburger left ESPN to join the company founded by his brother and nephew.
Considered the first sports media company dedicated to sports betting news, analysis and data, VSiN features 24/7 programming. The network, as Deifik noted, has become popular among bettors, particularly in Las Vegas.
Now, VSiN looks to expand its reach. And Ocean Resort has opened its doors.
“Our goal for the William Hill Sports Book at Ocean Resort Casino is to maintain its status as the new epicenter for sports betting on the East Coast,” Deifik said in the release, “so to be able to enhance that reputation by partnering with broadcast pioneer VSiN and esteemed industry leaders Brent and Brian Musburger was an easy and exciting decision for us to make.”
