Deal With It: Evolution Gaming Inks Live Dealer Gaming Deal With DraftKings

Evolution Gaming announced today that it signed a new live casino deal with DraftKings.

The Boston-based company behind the market leading NJ sports betting app is ready to up its casino ante.

James Stern, chief business officer for Evolution, commented on the news.

“DraftKings is a young and dynamic company that has blazed a trail in recent years with its best-in-class technology and extensive knowledge of sports.

“DraftKings was first to market in New Jersey with online sports betting, just a couple (of) months after filing its license with the New Jersey regulators. We very much look forward to working with DraftKings on this project.”

Evolution Gaming, the leading provider of live dealer games, has a US studio in Atlantic City.

While no timeline for launch was mentioned, the move represents a full-steam-ahead approach for DraftKings Casino.

DraftKings Casino and its current online games

DraftKings built an international following with its daily fantasy sports product but moved into the rapidly expanding US sports betting market last year in New Jersey.

Then, in December, DraftKings Casino launched as part of the updated DraftKings Sportsbook app with one game: blackjack.

DraftKings online casino is available on both iOS and Android devices, but it’s not a separate app. DraftKings Sportsbook app users can access the casino by clicking on the “More Games” tab.

While the game count at DraftKings’ NJ gambling site is still limited compared to its competitors, the platform rolled out several popular games earlier this month.

The current DraftKings Casino includes:

  • Blackjack
  • Roulette
  • Double Double Bonus Poker
  • Cleopatra slots
  • Wheel of Fortune slots

Players can make wagers for as little as a penny on the Cleopatra slots and a maximum of $1,000 for roulette.

It is likely that when live dealer games launch, DraftKings will nest them in the same app location.

And here’s the best part: With the online casino being built into the current sportsbook app, players enjoy a shared wallet (DFS site included).

Those who enjoy NJ sports betting using DraftKings can take advantage of free sports bet promos available to customers who try the casino product.

Live dealer games + NJ gambling sites

Evolution and its live casino offerings are certainly not a new thing in New Jersey, but they are immensely popular.

The company currently offers live dealer games at Hard Rock Online Casino and 888 Casino.

In December, Evolution announced that it was extending its partnership with Kindred Group to bring “Live casino services to players in New Jersey.”

Kindred is the parent company to Unibet, which will soon be establishing itself in the New Jersey market. The brand is currently one of the biggest online gambling and sports betting sites in Europe.

Betfair (FanDuel)Golden Nugget and SugarHouse are just a few of the other NJ online casino operators offering the live dealer option.

But Golden Nugget was the site that started it all back in 2016. Some say became a juggernaut in the NJ online gambling market because of it.

Why does this matter or relate to DraftKings?

Remember, DraftKings Sportsbook jumped to the front of the NJ online sports betting line with its Aug. 6 launch. The 5,000-square-foot DraftKings Sportsbook at Resorts Atlantic City (one of the biggest in town) opened in the fall.

It seems, when it comes NJ sports betting and online gambling, DraftKings has no intention of settling for second best.
