And while #FreeToBetDay is over, DraftKings is still offering a free bet of up to $100 for inviting friends to the sports betting party.
It is true, that the majority of sports are still sitting on the sidelines, but there are plenty of options:
- Tiger vs. Phil charity golf event
- NASCAR Cup Series
- UFC
- NFL futures
Breaking down the free betting action
DraftKings Sportsbook tracked how customers used the free wagers by handle and bets.
In terms of sports, even the suddenly popular table tennis was drawing action. Here is a closer look at the breakdown:
And, in terms of teams, the Kansas City Chiefs, the defending Super Bowl champions, ranked first in handle and bets.
However, the Philadelphia Eagles and 76ers cracked the top 10, too.
DraftKings Sportsbook and NJ sports betting history
When talking about NJ sports betting history, DraftKings has played a major role.
This is the same brand that built a following with its daily fantasy sports product. However, in August ’18, DK launched the first legal betting app in the Garden State.
Sixteen others have followed, with more likely coming.
Two years later, DraftKings regularly finishes second to FanDuel Sportsbook in the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement’s monthly revenue figures.
Of course, April numbers were not so hot.
DraftKings Casino, on the other hand, is benefiting from these uncharted times in sports wagering. The operator accounts for a large portion of Resorts Digital‘s $16.1 million in April internet gaming revenue.
But the New Jersey launch set the foundation for bigger plans.
The DraftKings Sportsbook app is now available in:
- Pennsylvania
- Indiana
- West Virginia
- New Hampshire
- Iowa
And as of this month, it is also available in Colorado.
So, Free to Bet Day is only getting bigger by the year. Remember to circle May 14 on your 2021 calendar and until then, invite some friends to the popular sportsbook app.
