Here Comes The Stream Dream For New Jersey Bettors

DraftKings announced Thursday that it had expanded its partnership with Sportradar to offer live sports streaming.

DraftKings Sportsbook live stream: What it’s all about

This is a significant gambling breakthrough: essential sportsbook components are now in the palm of one’s hand. Video streaming, combined with official league data, helps bettors determine the flow of each contest and whether in-game bets are sensible.

This combined package will almost certainly hike in-game betting totals for DraftKings. Putting both elements into a mobile device is game-changing. There is no need to be in front of a television, or inside of a brick-and-mortar facility to make wagers.

Video streaming has already revolutionized the sports world in recent years.

Significant sports such as boxing (via DAZN) and mixed martial arts (through the UFC’s deal with ESPN+) have made streaming the cornerstone of their multimillion-dollar product distribution.

Real-time data will enhance this presentation.

DraftKings and Sportradar

In November of 2019, the companies announced a long-term partnership extension. It called for Sportradar to continue as DraftKings’ supplier for data feeds and betting content for a variety of sports. They include:

The live-stream rollout was simply the latest joint effort, said Ezra Kucharz chief business officer at DraftKings.

“With a focus on innovation, we are excited to further enhance our product offerings to include a convenient, state-of-the-art experience through live entertainmen. At this difficult time for sports fans across the nation, we have extended our partnership with Sportradar to bring customers the best in-app experience from the safety and comfort of their homes.”

Pursuant to state regulations, DraftKings Sportsbook customers who are logged in to their active accounts and have a wallet balance above $0 can live stream games directly within the mobile app.

Yes, the number of pro sports games in the lineup is slim right now.

But even so, DraftKings Sportsbook customers will be able to live stream a number of sports.

These sports currently include the Korea Baseball Organization and Bundesliga Soccer (Division 1), but that list will presumably grow as major sports return. There are more than 100 different leagues on the DraftKings platform.

Live stream sports popularity is growing

Live streaming by legal sports betting operators has become increasingly popular in Europe. Sportsbook officials have told that in-game betting often accounts for 80% of event betting in several countries there.

Live streaming will likely become a catalyst for more New Jersey in-game betting online, as Neale Deeley of Sportradar said:

“We are delighted to expand our partnership with DraftKings to include live streaming in their mobile app. We share DraftKings’ vision to deliver the best possible betting entertainment experience to US bettors, and we look forward to continuing to innovate together.”

Sportradar is a leading global provider of sports data intelligence. Established in 2001, the company occupies a unique position as a provider of solutions to sports federations, news media, consumer platforms and sports betting operators.

A less-publicized but significant asset for Sportradar is its Integrity Services division, headlined by the unique Fraud Detection System (FDS). The FDS monitors the entire global betting market to detect betting-related fraud in any sport, according to company reports.

To this end, by tracking odds changes and liquidity across such a wide range of markets, the FDS detects irregular betting patterns in real-time, both pre-match and live (in game) and notifies operators. This endeavor keeps tabs on more than 400,000 sporting events per year across 60 sports to monitor their integrity.
