Wheel of Fortune Casino to Make North American Debut in New Jersey ‘This Year’

TV’s Wheel of Fortune fans will soon have a casino dedicated to real-money online slots games using the show’s branding. The new Wheel of Fortune Casino is coming later this year, according to BetMGM, the company behind the idea.

In a press release, BetMGM said:

More than 250 versions of Wheel of Fortune slot games have been introduced over the last 25 years, and this online launch of Wheel of Fortune Casino will represent the latest gaming extension for the brand.

BetMGM operates online casino sites in Ontario, Canada, and all legal states but Connecticut. Sony is the owner of the Wheel of Fortune show and brand, while IGT is a supplier of casino games and software.

Gamblers who don’t want to wait for the new casino to launch can Sign up for BetMGM Casino NJ and start playing Wheel of Fortune slots.

A Three-Way Partnership

Jersey City, NJ-based BetMGM is the US online casino market leader. For this new site, it’s partnering with Culver City, Calif.-headquartered Sony Pictures Television and London-based International Game Technology (IGT).

The three companies agreed to bring this “first full brand-led online casino in North America” to New Jersey first. The online gambling industry considers the Garden State the best place to test online casino sites. Then operators launch elsewhere.

As with all product debuts, state regulators must approve the online casino before launch.

BetMGM is a joint venture between Las Vegas-based MGM Resorts International and Isle of Man-headquartered Entain.

In New Jersey, BetMGM works off the retail casino license of MGM’s Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa in Atlantic City. So BetMGM may use its Borgata license for the new site, too.

Wheel of Fortune Casino Is A Game-Changer

“Wheel Watchers” nearly match the population of New Jersey. About 8 million people watch the 40-year-old television show each night, says ABC. ABC is one of the networks to air the syndicated program.

Some of them may already play Wheel of Fortune-themed, real-money slots at other online casinos.

Indeed, NJGamblingSites found 46 results on IGT’s site today for games in the Wheel of Fortune series. Eight of these are available on BetMGM Casino NJ already.

Wheel of Fortune Casino will remind fans of the show they love, promises Matt Prevost, BetMGM’s chief revenue officer.

Prevost said:

Once live, Wheel of Fortune Casino will offer players the excitement of their favorite gameshow and real money wagering in the palm of their hand.

Enrico Drago, the IGT CEO of digital and betting, said:

We’re excited to celebrate the evolution of the IGT Wheel of Fortune slot brand with BetMGM and Sony Pictures Television through the launch of Wheel of Fortune Casino. The Wheel of Fortune brand has been synonymous with slot gaming for more than 25 years. And this unprecedented brand-led online casino, driven by BetMGM’s compelling platform and promotional capabilities, is well-positioned to engage and entertain new and long-time players.

If the New Jersey launch goes well, the online casino site may emulate the syndicated show. BetMGM may launch the site in other legal online casino jurisdictions in North America.
