NJ online casino players may not have trained at AMA Fight Club in Cedar Knolls like MMA champion Amanda Nunes. However, they’ll soon be able to feel like they did, thanks to the online casino slots game The Lioness launching on BetMGM.
The game that pays homage to Nunes is one of many coming to BetMGM Casino NJ through the Jersey City-based company’s agreement with Malta-headquartered iGaming software provider EveryMatrix.
EveryMatrix announced its US debut today, saying its gaming portfolio will be available through BetMGM.
However, NJGamblingSites found the titles weren’t live as of presstime.
EveryMatrix says these games are coming to NJ online casino gamblers:
- John Daly Spin It and Win It,
- The Lioness, featuring Nunes,
- Armadillo Goes West, and
- “freshly released” Mythological Mayhem Supreme Streaks
If the armadillo game sounds familiar, it’s not the same online slot or mammal as the one released last month. On Sept. 20, casino game developer Design Works Gaming (DWG) brought Armadillo Arty Gone Wild to BetMGM Casino NJ.
NJ Online Casino Will Be the First Stop
Today’s announcement about EveryMatrix involves content from Armadillo Studios and Spearhead Studios distributed to BetMGM by EveryMatrix’s CasinoEngine platform.
EveryMatrix Americas President Erik Nyman says in the announcement:
Going live in the US is one of the largest undertakings an online gaming supplier can accomplish. And I am particularly proud we achieve this milestone with BetMGM, one of the most progressive operators in the industry. We are excited to advance on our roadmap initiatives with BetMGM and deliver across North America – as we are licensed in multiple states.
On June 29 BetMGM Gaming Director Oliver Bartlett said of the agreement with EveryMatrix:
We’re excited to partner with EveryMatrix to bring their great content to BetMGM players in the US. We consistently provide a world-class gaming experience and through the addition of their games to our platform, we look forward to strengthening our position as the leading operator in the country.
In the meantime, EveryMatrix announced on Aug. 2 that it had Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) approval to work with iGaming operators there. The province requires a second layer of approval before launching, though. Operators and suppliers need operating agreements with iGaming Ontario (iGO).
EveryMatrix Featured Slot – The Lioness
EveryMatrix announced the development of The Lioness over the summer. With the title being a reference to the ring name of the UFC’s Amanda Nunes, it represented the company’s first foray into licensed branding for a true slots title. Through Spearhead Studios, EveryMatrix had previously released simpler “scratch” and “spin” games featuring the image of golf’s everyman hero John Daly.
None of these were available in the US at the time of launch. However, The Lioness and John Daly Spin It & Win It are both mentioned in the press release as being among the games gamblers can expect at BetMGM.
As is typical for branded slots, The Lioness features Nunes’ likeness on the high-pay symbols. These can appear in full-column stacks. Landing three or more of these triggers the special Fight feature which plays video clips of Nunes in action and provides a multiplier to the resulting winnings.
There are also Scatter symbols. Landing three of these awards five free spins with even taller stacks of Nunes symbols. Getting four or more triggers a cash-on-reels minigame instead.
The game also has some optional features that BetMGM may or may not choose to include. Regulations permitting, The Lioness can have a Bonus Buy option, and what it calls Fortune Bet. The latter adds a 30% premium to the stake but provides higher multipliers in return whenever the Fight feature triggers.
