Over a month after opening its sportsbook at the Meadowlands Racetrack in East Rutherford, Fanduel Sportsbook entered the NJ online betting market on Sept. 1.
The company, known for DFS expertise, has encountered some problems with their retail location since their mid-July launch. However, it is prepared to make an impact in an increasingly crowded NJ sports betting scene.
“FanDuel is creating a new genre of entertainment, and sports betting is another way we can bring fans closer and more engaged to the games and teams they follow,” said Matt King, CEO of FanDuel Group. “We’re leveraging our experiences building the sportsbook at the Meadowlands and the global footprint of Paddy Power Betfair to build an online sports betting experience that fans want, love, and can rely on.”
FanDuel Sportsbook has a strong daily fantasy sports following and a retail sportsbook at The Meadowlands in New Jersey. The sportsbook app platform is top-notch with slick, intuitive usability. What the sportsbook lacks in bet variety it makes up for in quality. Sign up today and get an exclusive $500 risk free bet bonus on your first deposit at FanDuel Sportsbook online.

For the app, you can download it via the Apple App Store. To find it for Android smartphones and tablets, you will need to visit the FanDuel Sportsbook on your mobile browser.
Signing up is straightforward.
Enter all your information, check the boxes, and create an account. Like some sites, you can view prices if you’re not in New Jersey. However, you must be verified as located in the state to place bets.
Existing FanDuel DFS customers can use their account information to create a profile on the NJ sportsbook. Once you log into the sportsbook, you can access Fanduel’s DFS page by clicking “Fantasy.”
FanDuel Sportsbook software
FanDuel Sportsbook is owned and operated by FanDuel Group, the US arm of Paddy Power Betfair.
Those familiar with FanDuel from DFS will recognize the setup of the online sportsbook. The biggest difference between the two is the sportsbook uses a darker blue, and it gives the site a different feel.
The biggest difference between FanDuel and competitors in design appears to be the organization of the site. The tabs make it a lot easier to find the desired game and betting options.
Finding wagers is fairly straightforward. Click on a game for options, select one or more to build a ticket, and the site tabulates the odds. The site is easy to navigate and find what players need.
FanDuel Sportsbook experience
FanDuel invested a lot of capital into expanding its offers in the NJ sports betting market.
The book in East Rutherford is impressive. The online experience fits the aesthetic: It’s straightforward, inviting, and very user-friendly. With more than $3 million in revenue for August 2018, the partnerships and risks taken have paid off for the new group.
FanDuel remains active in offering incentives to players through social media and emails. Instead of advertising barrages, the money has been invested in the product and it shows. Players have a chance to get credit if their NFL bet fails after a halftime lead.
There’s a lot to consider but there’s a lot of opportunities to get players involved. This could be the best live-online combo in the NJ sports betting market currently and going forward.

Types of bets at FanDuel
FanDuel offers a variety of live bets during games.
Hit the Live tab to access the in-game prices. For football, there’s a lot of in-game props available, such as next touchdown scorer, alternate totals/spreads, and parlays.
Soccer fans can bet on the final score, leader at each half, goals scored, and others. Baseball includes by-inning options, run totals, and other bets. Not all games on the docket may be available. One side of a bet may be available while the other is not.
It’s easy to figure out the pricing. Live bets are noted with a price. Those that are closed have the number replaced by a locked icon. Changes are noted by a change in screen color: green for a price increase, red for a decrease.
Vig is usually higher for in-game bets.
Fanduel offers a variety of parlay options across the board. Adding legs increases payoff odds. Click on a price to add it to the bet slip.
With each successive element added, the site will automatically adjust the odds. Players can combine in-game and pre-game bets but cannot use two bets from the same event.
Point-spread and total prices are eligible for teasers. Players can add six, 6.5, and seven points. Teasing more points will alter odds. Add as many teams as you’d like and Fanduel will calculate the odds.
Feeling confident about your picks?
Throw them together in a round robin format and watch the winnings pile up. Select the games and FanDuel will calculate the odds.
Do you like prop bets? FanDuel has them.
Before one week of NFL action ends, FanDuel already has some prices available for the next week. Click a sport, and then the Futures tabs to peruse the options.
Like other sites, FanDuel does not use the term “Super Bowl” when offering prop bets for the NFL champion.
FanDuel gives players the option to cash out bets. The amount returned to the player will vary on the timing and status of the event.
