Hard Rock Atlantic City quietly launched its Hard Rock online casino in New Jersey on June 28, shortly after a celebratory, guitar-smashing grand opening of its AC casino. Look for more detail about the newest NJ online gambling site soon.
Hard Rock Atlantic City opens its doors
The Trump Taj Mahal officially became the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City on June 28 during an epic grand reopening.
The $1.2 billion casino resort first opened in 1990. At the time, it was considered the biggest casino in the world. However, financial issues plagued the property from the start. Despite being the top-grossing casino in Atlantic City for the decade prior to the opening of the Borgata in 2003, the Taj went through a number of bankruptcies and ownership changes.
The Taj shut down in October 2016 amid a labor dispute. Hard Rock International bought the aging property for $50 million in early 2017. The organization planned a $375 million renovation and rebranding that quickly ballooned to over $500 million.
When it does open, Hard Rock Atlantic City will host 2,400 slots and 130 table games. The interior will be redesigned to include Hard Rock International’s uniquely themed design, branding, and pieces from the world’s largest collection of music memorabilia.
The Taj was among the first casinos to obtain an NJ online gambling license. Together with Ultimate Gaming, a subsidiary of Las Vegas’ Station Casinos, The Taj launched Ultimate Casino in November 2013. However, Ultimate Gaming pulled out in that first year with the Taj facing major financial problems and the online casino was no longer active.
All was quiet on the online front until Hard Rock applied for an NJ online gambling license in early 2018. Soon after, Hard Rock International announced it had entered into a partnership with online gambling software company Gaming Innovation Group (GiG).
Hard Rock Online Casino Bonus Code
Information regarding these bonuses has yet to be released by Hard Rock officials, but when they are, players can expect them to come with an online bonus code attached. These bonus codes allow players access to exclusive bonuses when they use them to sign up for an account. Plus, they allow Hard Rock to track where new players are coming from and what promotions are working.
Most of the NJ online casino market offers at least $10 in no-deposit bonus cash and a 100 percent deposit bonus of up to a minimum of $100. Players should expect at least that or more from Hard Rock.
Details of all the bonuses available will be found in this space once Hard Rock officials release them and the Hard Rock Online Casino officially opens up.

Hard Rock Online Casino software
Hard Rock has chosen to partner with veteran online gaming software company GiG to launch its NJ gambling site.
GiG was founded in 2012 and has been focused mostly on European online gambling markets. Hard Rock will represent the company’s first foray into the legal and regulated US online gambling market.
GiG has already said it’s going to develop its own software platform for the site, leaving platform providers for other New Jersey online casinos, including the NYX Open Platform System and Gamesys platform, on the outside looking in.
In terms of games, GiG’s European online gambling sites have long offered titles from some of the industry’s top gambling software suppliers through third-party partnerships. It will likely do the same with Hard Rock in the US.
At the end of 2017, GiG announced it’s creating a new game service provider of its own called GIG Games. The plan is to develop games in-house and sell them to operators on a revenue share basis. However, there’s a good chance these games will be found at Hard Rock online casino in NJ.
According to the announcement by GiG, GIG Games had three games in development mode late last year it expects to be launched in the third quarter of 2018. Plus, the company estimates it will be able to offer six to eight games by the end of the year.
In early 2018, GiG struck major third-party partner software deals to make a huge slate of games available on its European online gambling sites. There’s every reason to think these games will also be made available at Hard Rock online casino in NJ once it launches.
The first deal was struck with London-based premium HTML5 casino games creator Push Gaming. The second was with Slingo Casino developer Gaming Realms.
Both partnerships are said to have significantly enhanced GiG’s library of popular casino games.
Games at Hard Rock Online Casino
Hard Rock Online Casino will likely offer a wide variety of different online casinos games. From electronic versions of classic casino table games to all the latest branded video and massive progressive jackpot slots, Hard Rock will have it all.
Some New Jersey online casinos offer as many as a dozen different blackjack games. Hard Rock will need to offer basic blackjack and a few variations, at the very least. However, if it really wants to compete with NJ’s most successful online gambling platforms, the more the merrier.
Roulette is one of the most popular online casino games in the New Jersey online casino market. There are two basic variations of the game. These include European Roulette with a single zero and American Roulette, with a single and double zero.
Hard Rock will likely offer both of those. Plus, its offering may include some fun roulette variations with more than one ball or more than one wheel.
Live dealer games
Golden Nugget and Betfair have found success with online live dealer blackjack, roulette, baccarat and Casino Texas Hold’em games that combine the online and brick and mortar casino experience. Borgata Casino has recently followed suit and started offering live dealer games on three sites: Borgata online, playMGM and PartyCasino.
Based on that, Hard Rock may want to include live dealer games in its offering as well.
Slots at Hard Rock Online Casino
There’s little doubt Hard Rock online casino will launch with a huge variety of online slots. After all, that’s exactly how the top-grossing online casinos in the state have put themselves ahead of the pack.
Expect to see everything from penny slots to slots reserved for high rollers. There will be the latest branded video slots, exclusive progressive slots with massive jackpots and everything in between.
In early 2018, Hard Rock software supplier GiG struck a deal with London-based premium HTML5 casino games creator Push Gaming. As a result, you can expect to find a variety of Push Gaming slots on the Hard Rock online casino, too.
Some of Push Gaming’s most popular online slot titles include:
- Bonus Beans
- Dragon Sisters
- Fat Rabbit
- Gems of the Gods
- Golden Farm
- Hockey Hero
- Humpty Dumpty
- Ice Breaker
- Meet the Meerkats
- Peter & the Lost Boys
- Power Force Heroes
- Power Force Villains
- Star Fall
- The Hidden Temple

GiG also struck a deal with Slingo Casino developer Gaming Realms.
Some of the top Slingo slots titles include:
- Frooti Booti
- Dragon’s Gems

- The Price is Right
- Slingo Reel Extreme
- Slingo Rainbow Riches
- Slingo Xxxtreme
- Pay of the Dead
- Bar X Colossal

- Deal or No Deal
Hard Rock online casino will likely offer a large selection of video poker games. Some online casinos in the state offer as many as twenty. Hard Rock will have to have the basics, like Jacks or Better and Deuces Wild, but it’ll probably have even more.
Banking options at Hard Rock Online Casino
Hard Rock Online Casino should be ready to accept the following deposit methods upon launch:
- Debit Cards
- Prepaid Cards
- Electronic checks
- Bank wire
- Cash at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City cage
Players should be able to make withdrawals from their Hard Rock online casino account using the same method used to make a deposit. Failing that, Hard Rock will mail you a check or invite you to pick up cash at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City cashier’s cage.
Hard Rock Online Casino VIP program
Casino players hunt for value. In order to attract them, NJ online gambling sites must offer comprehensive VIP and player loyalty clubs that offer great value, reward high volume play and inspire loyalty to the brand. Hard Rock will likely roll out a loyalty program offering bonuses, cashback, and rewards redeemable at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City at the very least.
Expect exclusive bonuses and comps, plus the value that draws players to the new Hard Rock online casino.
The program may even run in conjunction with the Seminole Wild Card program, available at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla., and five other Florida casinos run by Hard Rock International. Players in that program earn Comp Dollars at every Seminole Casino, invitations to exclusive events, giveaways, concert ticket offers, and more. Currently, Hard Rock Atlantic City launched its Wild Card loyalty program with similar values and offers.
Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City may want to bring that program to New Jersey and allow Hard Rock online casino players to reap the benefits as well.
Hard Rock Online Casino support
It’s no secret that top-notch customer service can attract and retain more customers than almost anything else. Most NJ gambling sites offer around-the-clock support, including:
- Live chat
- Phone support
- Email support
Expect Hard Rock Online Casino to do the same and try to build a reputation for having one of the best customer service teams in the NJ online gambling market.
Hard Rock Online Casino updates November 2018
Hard Rock’s NJ online casino raced out of the gate with 264 games, but slowed their roll in October, adding just one new slot title: One Red Cent Deluxe. This is a Progressive slot that requires you to max bet and get 5 or more Scatter symbols to win the jackpot. However, even 4 of those Scatter symbols will pay out a minimum of 32x your bet, which isn’t too shabby. There’s also a Red Cent Bonus, which reveals a set of doors, with coins and multipliers (up to 160x) behind each.
Over at their brick-and-mortar casino in Atlantic City, Hard Rock has again partnered with Gaming Innovation Group (GiG)—who already handles their online casino platform—to provide a sportsbook. They are one of the few AC casinos without one at this point. Due to their ties to the Miami Dolphins, they were prevented from offering the amenity on their own. You should expect the sportsbook to debut by year’s end.
